OT Cyber FAT/SAT Testing
OT Cyber FAT/SAT Testing
Operational Technology (OT) environments require rigorous security validation before deployment to ensure resilience against cyber threats. Cyber Forte conducts Factory Acceptance Testing (FAT) and Site Acceptance Testing (SAT) for industrial cybersecurity, helping organizations verify and validate the security of their systems before they go live. These assessments are critical in industries such as oil and gas, manufacturing, energy, pharmaceuticals, and transportation, where OT systems control essential operations. By identifying security gaps and misconfigurations early in the deployment process, FAT and SAT ensure that cybersecurity controls are effectively implemented and meet regulatory and industry standards.

Factory Acceptance Testing (FAT)
Factory Acceptance Testing is conducted before a system leaves the manufacturer or vendor's facility to ensure it meets all security requirements before installation at the operational site. Our FAT process includes reviewing cybersecurity configurations, verifying secure system architecture, and testing the implementation of security controls. We conduct penetration-resistant system validation, access control testing, firmware security verification, and compliance assessments aligned with IEC 62443 and industry best practices. By detecting vulnerabilities before deployment, FAT reduces costly post-installation security modifications and ensures that only hardened, secure systems are introduced into the production environment.

Site Acceptance Testing (SAT)
Site Acceptance Testing takes place after the system has been installed at the operational facility, verifying that cybersecurity measures remain intact and function correctly in the live environment. Our SAT process evaluates network security integration, real-time monitoring capabilities, secure remote access controls, and overall system hardening. We perform industrial cybersecurity stress tests, introducing unauthorised devices in the network, through informed evaluations to ensure that OT environments are protected against certain cyber threats. SAT is crucial in identifying security vulnerabilities that may arise due to environmental factors, integration complexities, or operational constraints that were not present during FAT.
Ensuring Compliance and Security Readiness
Cyber Forte ensures that all FAT and SAT procedures capture evidence for IEC 62443-3-3 compliance where required. This is usually required as evidence for Regulatory Audits, before the system is allowed into the live production environment or the Plant Operations can commence.
Why Choose Cyber Forte for FAT/SAT Testing?
With extensive experience in industrial control systems (ICS), SCADA networks, and critical infrastructure security, Cyber Forte brings industry-leading expertise to FAT and SAT testing. Our hands-on approach ensures that security vulnerabilities are identified and mitigated before deployment, reducing operational risks and strengthening cybersecurity resilience. We work closely with organizations to tailor testing strategies that align with their unique operational and regulatory requirements, ensuring secure and compliant OT systems.
